Let’s get Brian David Gilbert to perform a Skyrim Drama!
Why this petition matters
On October 28, 2018 the gaming website Polygon.com released a video on their YouTube channel called “I read all 337 books in Skyrim so you don’t have to | Unraveled”. It is the second in an increasingly popular ongoing video series in which the beloved star Brian David Gilbert reads and categorizes the 337 books found in Bethesda studios’ video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
This video, which currently boasts over 2.5 million views, can be found here
The video includes Gilbert expressing his passion and experience in the performing arts as he reviews a play found in a book called “The Lusty Argonian Maid”.
Due to the extreme length of the play, I am not suggesting that he perform this one in particular. However, I believe that audiences would be interested in witnessing a performed reading of one of the many works described in the video.
The interest in such a video is apparent by the fandom that Brian David Gilbert has fostered within his personal YouTube channel, his content with Polygon, and his dedicated subreddit. In fact, a top comment on the aforementioned video written by a YouTube user named El Schaefer reads:
“No joke, I’d pay real money to see those staged readings of Skyrim Drama”
Since the time of this petition being written, the post has received over 5.5 thousand likes.
If a video of Brian David Gilbert performing a drama based on one of the books from Skyrim were to be produced, I believe it would bring a great deal of joy to not only myself, but to BDG fans and gamers everywhere.
