My eldest son Ruben Robelin was visiting for the holidays, but on Saturday December 28, 2019 at 1:30 a.m. Ruben was shot “inside” of a night club called “Metro Grand Rapids” which is located at 1901 Division Ave. S. Grand Rapids, MI. 49507. He’s a business accountant and is employed by an accounting firm out of Chicago.

The reasoning for this petition is to bring awareness to the fact that security measures need to be implemented inside of bars, nightclubs, etc. but also met and utilized. When these security measures are overlooked, people can become seriously injured, or maybe even die.

My son is a GREAT man of COURAGE, STRENGTH, and AMBITION. He has obtained his master’s degree in business accounting and a proud father to a beautiful baby boy, Ruben II (14 months old).

By law, regulation, and stipulation we should be safe and secured by on duty security staff. Unfortunately the establishment failed in doing so therefore Ruben was affected by not only the recklessness of an armed individual but also and more importantly the lack of security measures.

The victim could have been anyone under the circumstances that took place within. Unfortunately it was my son but I am asking WE SPEAK UP against this night clubs owner and staff for not only the lack of securing the night club but becoming detrimental to ones whom were inside and allowing an armed individual into their establishment and causing harm to an innocent bystander and possibly hurting multiple others. Please help me and my family be the voice we need for justice to be served! Thank You and may God Bless you all!!
