“How can African Americans - males in particular - prove that discrimination exists in criminal sentencing if no data is collected to prove or disprove racial bias in their sentencing? The fact that no data has been centrally collected by our courts even when racial fairness commissions, task forces and experts over the past 25 years have asked for this data to be collected is presumptive evidence of institutional racism in our courts. Institutional racism must be stopped.” Judge Ray Headen, 8th District Court of Appeals – Cuyahoga County.

We need a statewide criminal sentencing database to protect our rights. As a result, Pastor Aaron Phillips, Executive Director and the Cleveland Clergy Coalition have started this Change.org petition and are asking for your help to make sure that this much needed sentencing database is enacted in 2021– almost 26 years after the first attempt.

Please sign the Petition and Push Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly to Enact into law a Statewide Criminal Sentencing Database.
