You probably know that Obama Public Housing rules now forbid residents from smoking tobacco in their apartments or within 25 feet of a building. We all know the problems with smoking. Yet forcing elderly and disabled people out into inclement weather is tantamount to forcing them to quit. We don’t mind smoke free indoor public areas. Yet many of us chose what was once a ‘smoking building.’ Let us smoke in our apartments, again. Children know that “for your own good” means loss of liberty.

As you eliminate overreaching Obama regulations please rescind or correct 24 CFR Subpart A 965.651-655, 966.4 f, 12 i B and 12 ii B, to allow some properties to return to smoking in their apartments or allow people to vote their choice. Your staff may know of more sections. You will gain favor with many seniors, disabled, smokers, folk who want to know that you are listening and lovers of freedom and liberty.
