Why this petition matters

Started by Hana Bangura

Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau was a 19-year old black woman whose life was tragically taken by an unknown man. Salau was an avid protestor for the Black Lives Matter movement, and was also battling homelessness.

What happened:

On June 6th, Salau posted various tweets on her Twitter (@ virgingrltoyin) about a man who offered her a ride to church, but ended up molesting her instead. Salau described her location, abuser, the abuser’s apartment, and the vehicle she was in. Salau also reported the assault to the police, and gave DNA evidence. Since that day, she was reported missing.

On June 14th, it has been confirmed that Salau’s body was found on a random street.

This young girl cried for HELP and she never got it.

This petition was made to bring attention to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Tallahassee police department to do their job, and investigate this crime.

She used her voice to fight for black lives, let’s fight for hers too.

JUSTICE FOR TOYIN! SAY HER NAME! BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!
