Vlare was an independent video sharing platform operating out of Germany. This site had many social features like Direct Messaging and Clubs. It was a sorta in between YouTube and Discord. However in August 2020, Vlare temporally shut down due to a copyright notice that was not sent to the host server. The owner of Vlare provided updates by use of Twitter and Discord. However one day, the owner said they were selling it to a third party. One of the main reasons people migrated was because of it being operated from Germany with no American offices, making it very hard for COPPA to strike. Since we don't know where it was going to be owned, it could be a major company operating it. This will make it easy for COPPA or some other law to strike it. The owner of Vlare, WYSIWYG! is responsible for all the bad ideas that lead to this, and we must say he is! Vlare is under attack, and we need the power of the community and Jan to hold him accountable for the bad ownership he lead!
