FIRST VIDEO DEPOSITION IN WDFW LAWSUIT SET FOR MONDAY SEPT 30, 2019

Washington Citizen Sportsmen
Tacoma, WA, United States
Sep 29, 2019

The first video deposition in the lawsuit  alleging the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Commission of violating the States Open Public Meeting Act, is scheduled for Monday, Sept 30, 2019.

The sworn and video taped deposition will be conducted between the attorney for the Twin Harbors Fish and Wildlife Advocacy (THFW)  and  Mr. Scott Bird, the former Rules Coordinator for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).  Mr. Bird was the WDFW employee who refused to produce the records associated with the rules development of the North of Falcon Process.  Choosing (or instructed) to demand that a Public Records Request be submitted instead.

Mr. Bird has resigned his position with WDFW, and in doing so may be a little more inclined to "transparency and truth" under oath.  His resignation as a State employee raises an interesting legal question however.  Is the States AG office (Assistant Attorney General Mike Grossman) still using taxpayers dollars to represent Mr. Bird?  The answer to that questions is still unclear, at least at the time of this writing.

Once completed, a summary  update is promised to be released by The Twin Harbors Fish and Wildlife Advocacy, the non-profit that has leveled the lawsuit in the interest of all Washington Citizen Sportsmen.

We will be providing as much information as we possibly can to keep everyone up to date as the litigation continues, however, please understand that the State is throwing everything they have to fight transparency and to keep from having their secrets exposed, so it takes a lot of hard work, money and time to get this through the legal system.

The advocacy's team is scouring thousands of documents and electronic records (which the Department pushed in an attempt to overwhelm them, called a white out.) And could be finding out some very interesting and potentially damning facts already.

Hopefully Mr. Bird will follow his moral compass and be totally open, transparent and truthful in his sworn statement to the people of this state.  It would be refreshing after all, coming from anyone associated in the leadership of WDFW.

Thank you all for your continued interest and support in the most important fight for our fish, our sport and for openness, transparency and truth in fish and wildlife management.
