Why this petition matters

Started by Keith Vaz

The war in Yemen has been ongoing for four years and has killed over 30,000 people directly and indirectly. 22.2 million people in Yemen now need urgent humanitarian assistance.

On November 8th, 2018 in Paris Parliamentarians from across Europe gathered to pledge to push their Governments to take concrete steps to end the war in Yemen.

The most important pledge is for Parliamentarians to Support a new United Nations Security Council Resolution to end the war in Yemen. This should demand among other conditions an immediate ceasefire, an end to the conflict and an end to any prevention of the passage of emergency humanitarian supplies.

This war cannot be settled on the battlefield. By signing this petition you are supporting the convening of Peace Talks and the UK tabling a new resolution at the United Nations Security Council to bring this war to an end.

Please also write to fcocorrespondence@fco.gov.uk calling for the UK to table a new resolution.
