Why this petition matters

Started by Kooringal Coast Care

Kooringal at Moreton Island/Mulgulpin is a special place for many of us. Whether you come by boat or 4WD it's a bit of a secret gem so close to Brisbane.  A place where you can unwind and enjoy the natural beauty and a unique unspoilt environment.

Unfortunately, the western shoreline of Kooringal is at risk from erosion and it is important we take positive action now to prevent and limit the impacts from this.  The longer the delay the more damage that will be done and the more difficult (if not impossible) the shoreline restoration process will be.

For more information or to join our coastcare group goto https://www.kooringalcoastcare.org.au/shoreline-erosion

We are petitioning the State Government and Brisbane City Council to take some immediate actions to slow this erosion and implement an Erosion Management Plan for the Kooringal township's western shoreline area.  These plans have already been developed for other coastal communities within the Brisbane City and Redlands Council areas.

If you love the natural beauty of Kooringal, Moreton Island and want your kids to be able to enjoy it, please sign the petition to help us save Kooringal and Days Gutter and maybe we can even bring back our beautiful beaches.
