The University of Texas at Dallas has the highest tuition out of ALL the public universities in the state of Texas. One of the Committees in Student Government is the Student Fee Advisory Committee. This committee comprises of Student Government Executives and some faculty who decide how and what our tuition is spent on. In 2019 alone, over 27 million dollars was allocated by this committee without significant change being seen. As a student and senator on Student Government, I do not know what is going on in Student Government. The minutes are not transparent, the finances are not transparent, and all of us (STUDENTS) are left paying these outrageous fees without an explanation. What is the Student Fee Advisory Committee?

"The Committee is charged to review and make recommendations to the Vice President for Student Affairs and the President regarding budget allocations from student services fee, medical services fee, recreational facilities fee, student union fee, athletic program fee, and the Student Services Building fee revenues for the next fiscal year. The Student Fee Advisory Committee is made of a select few SG Executives and some faculty. The President and Vice President of the UTD Student Government serve on this committee, and there is no information anywhere about what's going on. The link is below to the information below.

Call to Action 

As UTD students, we pay outrageous tuition fees to be at UTD, and yet, UTD is still ranked in the top 10 unhappiest universities in the nation. Your tuition money should go towards making your academic and university experience better; however, UTD has continuously failed to do just that. Sign and share the petition to make UTD Student Government transparent with the Student Fee Advisory Committee’s activities and allocation so we can hold UTD and SG responsible for using our student tuition to better our education, student life, and campus experience.
