Why this petition matters

Started by Madeleine McCawley

Currently across the US only one state recognizes Asexuality as a sexuality in their Anti-Discrimination laws. Other states only list Heterosexual, Homosexual, bisexual, and sometimes Pansexual. This is a major problem because it allows Asexuals to be discriminated against without any form of legal repercussions. This means that Ace people can be denied housing, jobs, and even marriage.
Asexuality needs to be legally recognized and protected Along with the more ‘common’ sexualities in order to stop sexuality based discrimination. Just because Asexuality isn’t ‘Visible’ doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist or doesn’t deserve protection.
As an asexual person living in the United States it’s terrifying to know that my protection isn’t guaranteed. Please help by signing this petition and pressuring the government to protect Asexuals.
