Why this petition matters
In 2014, Brandon Spencer was sentenced to 40 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit. He was accused of firing shots into a party at USC, injuring four. Spencer has always maintained his innocence and all who know him are certain that he was not the shooter. He was arrested with no evidence and the officers constructed a narrative to justify his arrest.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Edmund W. Clarke Jr. sentenced Spencer on April 18 2014. Brandon was 19 years old. During Brandon's trial, the prosecution presented false evidence and a false narrative to the jury, who convicted Brandon of four counts of attempted murder. Brandon Spencer is an upstanding citizen and he should have a life of success ahead of him, yet Judge Clarke ripped his future away with no evidence and no confession.
WE CAN STILL HELP! We need to reopen this case, spread the word, get the Innocence Project involved, and show Brandon Spencer that he has NOT been forgotten. Sign this petition to free Brandon Spencer from his wrongful conviction. Help him reclaim his life.
DO NOT LET BRANDON SPENCER BE ANOTHER STATISTIC OF A WRONGFULLY CONVICTED, RACIALLY PROFILED, YOUNG BLACK MAN SENTENCED TO A LIFE IN PRISON. #FREEBRANDONSPENCER
