Indiana University's Student Commitment agreement is vague and inappropriate to expect all students to sign. I, Daniel Mishler, will not be signing and am prepared to face the disciplinary action the University chooses to take against me. I take two major issues with the agreement.

1. The agreement preemptively offers consent to download and use any app the university deems necessary. This is a violation of our rights as students and citizens.
2. The agreement preemptively offers consent to do anything the University expects, even if they change their expectations after you sign. This clause is nothing short of extreme, especially because the University already is violating the rights of its students in the contract. The University needs to define what I'm expected to do before will I even begin to consider signing.

The University is threatening to remove campus access and take additional action against students who do not sign. I would hardly call this consent. This is coercion.

You should sign this petition if you:

• Also refuse to sign the Student Commitment Agreement.
• Do not attend Indiana University, but believe that the University should not force this upon its students.
• Have already signed the Student Commitment Agreement, but upon further consideration, revoke your consent to sign.
• Have already signed the Student Commitment Agreement out of fear that the University will punish you for not signing, but agree that what the University is doing is inappropriate.

While this agreement may have been written with good intentions, it has dire side effects. I am not an enemy of the University. I am an enemy of this agreement. I want more reasonable measures to be taken where the University and its students are satisfied.
