National Design Thinking Week
National Design Thinking Week
Why this petition matters
There is a National Design Week in October, but this is different. Design is for professionals. Design thinking is for beginners.
National Design Thinking Week is needed to bring awareness to low income schools to promote empathy and to prepare students (including adults) for the future where automation and innovation will continue to disrupt. The proposal is to have the week recognized on the 1st or 2nd week of May. Here is a list of the current days and weeks recognized by the Dept. of Ed. https://www.cde.ca.gov/re/pn/fb/cdecalendar.asp
We have registered a National Design Thinking Week with https://nationaldaycalendar.com/ and am waiting to here back. Only 25 out of 20,000 submissions are chosen.
People will develop skills to tackle the highly complex problems in our nation especially by thinking about designs for better pathways to human centered relationships with or without technology.
