The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board has closed West River Parkway in downtown Minneapolis to car traffic to assist with pedestrian social distancing from Friday, March 27 until Friday, April 10. Please extend this car-free pedestrian/bike zone all the way down West River Parkway to Minnehaha Falls! (exceptions for essential access and emergency vehicles)
Central Park in New York City, Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and Cherokee Park / Olmsted Conservancy in Louisville, Kentucky all have car-free pedestrian days. Please let us homebound COVID-19 weary Minneapolitans enjoy our parks with 6 feet social distancing!
