We, the members of Killeen Educators Association or the Killeen Independent School District Community-At-Large do hereby call upon the Killeen ISD District Leadership and members of the Killeen ISD Board of Trustees to commit to the following actions:

1.    To keep Killeen ISD schools closed until the Center for Disease Control lifts its recommendation limiting gatherings of 50 persons or more to ensure the health of students, faculty, and staff.

2.    That Killeen ISD guarantee that ALL employees – full-time, part-time, hourly, and per-diem workers – must be fully paid for as long as schools remain closed without needing to take sick leave, personal time, or family and medical leave, and no impact upon any pension contributions, as the district budgets yearly for salaries, wages and benefits.

3.    That Killeen ISD employees are given the same choice the district has offered students: That those who are immunocompromised, in a vulnerable category, or are simply fearful for their health will not be punished for their health choices by being forced to use leave or not be paid/terminated should the district mandate a return to normal operations before the crisis’ end.
