On 7th March 2021, my beautiful border collie, Blue, was attacked and mauled by 2 cane corso dogs that escaped from their garden. We were walking on the opposite side of a busy road. The owners were present in garden too and were witness but could not control the dogs. I tried to get the attacking dog off but was unsuccessful. All the while, I kept hold of Blue and fought for him.

My Blue was left unable to stand or walk and had 3 puncture wounds and bleeding into his abdomen. Blue died, later that evening. 

Police deemed the dogs as "not dangerous" and no criminal offence regarding a dog on dog attack.  

My family have been left distraught and I am traumatised by the event. The law needs to change, making dog attacks a criminal offence and more robust actions enforced on owners.
