We are calling on the Minister for Infrastructure Nichola Mallon deliver a safe commuter cycle route in West Belfast running from the City Centre to Lisburn, similar to the Comber greenway.  To reduce our carbon footprint, safe cycling must be provided for both commuting and leisure purposes.  A Lisburn to Belfast route would reduce polluting traffic coming into our City but also link up West and North Belfast with the Lagan towpath which gives residents another twenty-one mile of leisure cycling. This will help to tackle heath inequalities that exist in West and North Belfast. Investing in safe cycling will improve the quality of lives of our communities.
