Over a span of 5 years, the Melbourne Storm had an extra $1.7 million dollars to spend on quality players, while the rest had to make do with what they had. It was in no way the players or the coaches fault, but it is just injustice that the premiership has not been handed to the rightful owners. Parramatta came from 8th place, to fight their way to the grand final. A grand final they would’ve won. It is common logic to know that if the team placed 1st is called out for cheating, that the team placed 2nd should be awarded the title. But that isn’t the case. Yes, the premierships has been rightfully stripped from Melbourne, but it hasn’t been given to the real champions. The Parramatta Eels 2009 team. The premiership being stripped from the Storm was nothing compared to the Parramatta players emotional and mental health. They played their hearts out, against a team with twice their strength. It is just common sense that the Parramatta Eels 2009 team deserve that premiership. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
