Amanda Rees, a teacher at Oulder Hill Community School in Rochdale, Greater Manchester has taken advantage of her position as a teacher. Not only has she been sharing her political views with a room full of students, she has been sharing misleading information. The 1996 Education Act states that governors, councils and heads must “forbid the promotion of partisan political views in the teaching of any subject in the school.” Put simply, it is illegal to share political views with students.

It is impossible for Rees to have Israeli Jewish descendants as Israel was not established until 1948. Maybe she could have Israeli Jewish parents or grandparents but it is clear this is not the case; she is just using this false point to aggressively push her political agenda to young impressionable students. She also forgets to leave out the Palestinian Jews who have been killed by Israel.

She also goes on to call the situation a war when it is not and could never be a war since one side has an army funded and trained by some of the worlds most powerful nations and the other simply other has innocent civilians fighting for land that is rightfully theirs.

Facts aside, Mrs Rees acted in a completely unprofessional manner. She humiliated and belittled a year 7 child (11-12 years old) in front of his peers. As a former student of Mrs Rees I can assure you this isn’t the first time she’s bullied a student in this manner. This is unacceptable.
