Shoalhaven Council approves DA19/1841 for 17 units on a single block in Huskisson
Shoalhaven Council approves DA19/1841 for 17 units on a single block in Huskisson
Why this petition matters
We call on Shoalhaven Councillors to:
Revise the Local Environment Plan to be more in line with community expectations that development is respectful of existing local character.
Background:
The Shoalhaven Council has voted to approve DA19/1841, the construction of a 4 storey, 17 unit apartment block at 44 Duncan Street, Huskisson. This block is zoned R3 – Medium density.
This type of development will change the face of Huskisson and sets a dangerous precedent for the broader Shoalhaven.
And additionally:
- The proposed 4 storey unit block does not comply with an 11m height limit.
- The Council is not requiring compliance with the Development Control Plan (DCP) Floor space ratio, or other aspects of the DCP.
- It is not clear how Council plan to manage roads, water, sewerage, electricity supply and runoff.
We need you to urgently contact the Council, and sign our petition.
The more people who contact Council, the better.
There will be a rescission motion to try and reverse this decision so your letters / emails / calls / signatures do have a purpose!
Please note that any donations made via this petition go to Change.org to keep online petitions going and not to HWCV.
