We condemn the physical and verbal attacks on our fellow African colleagues, students and friends in the strongest possible terms.

It is unfathomable and deeply distressing that such horrendous violence and language is yet again erupting in a country whose citizens were welcomed and cared for by many other African countries for decades under apartheid.

We express our solidarity with our fellow African colleagues, students and friends, as well as other non-South African residents facing xenophobia in our country.
