Why this petition matters

Started by Brittni Cochran

The current situation in Afghanistan has undoubtedly become one of the largest U.S. made Humanitarian crisis in modern history. While the Taliban regime once again fill out their position as the "leaders" of Afghanistan, the Afghan people are left in fear of what is to come, with flashbacks of what was many years ago.

Over the course of 20 years, thousands of Afghans have helped the United States and their own government in hopes of a future of a free Afghanistan. Many of these Afghans served as translators and eventually made their way to America, becoming citizens with their wives and children, but they had to leave their mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers behind.

While it is still very important to make every effort to save translators still on the ground in Afghanistan, we cannot forget that the families of our Afghan-American brothers and sisters are in grave danger of being "sold-out" to the Taliban and we MUST help them escape persecution!

We humbly ask our elected officials; Mr. President, Mrs. Vice President, Senators & Representatives; SAVE OUR FAMILIES! The U.S. has been apart of the Afghan peoples lives for two decades. They are OUR people too and they still need US!
