Why this petition matters

People that want change,

If you're reading this, you need to understand that our planet is in serious crisis. We have been putting this issue of climate change aside for decades, and now it’s time to face this problem together. Climate change is affecting the entire planet and everything living on it, specifically our ecosystems, and our oceans.

There are so many consequences to ocean pollution. Many species are becoming extinct and are affected by people polluting the oceans. Did you know that 88% of the ocean is polluted and 90% of that pollution is carried in by only 10 rivers! if all the rivers that are connected to the oceans carried pollution, the ocean would be an even bigger disaster than it already is.

With these consequences in mind, here are some solutions you can do to improve our planet and stop this climate crisis. One of the easiest steps is to simply recycle. If we all stop being lazy and take a little time out of your day to recycle, a lot of marine animals will be saved.

Another solution is that we can stop buying bottled water and use reusable water bottles instead, as well as using reusable bags instead of plastic bags. Did you know that because of plastic pollution 1.1 million seabirds and animals are dying every year!

We can also contribute by taking time out of your day to pick up garbage on the streets and beaches and put them where they belong. Another easy thing to do is to reduce energy use by unplugging your devices when your not using them. Last but not least we can simply avoid buying products containing microbeads.

Thank you for listening, I hope you will take these solutions into consideration and make a change in our communities.
