The Oregon Department of Education says they haven’t been hearing from enough kids that they want to go back to school. So students, it’s time to speak up. Our education is being ruined. Would you like to have a prom, a graduation, to see your classmates and teachers again? Sign here if you want some semblance of your life back. This is going to the governor. Remote learning is especially detrimental to low-income students, those with disabilities, and underserved communities. The ODE said that they want to hear from the students themselves about opening our schools back up. Now is your chance to speak up and advocate to get back on track. This can be done safely, with proper COVID protocol present. Studies from around the country have shown that the safe re-opening of schools according to protocol is not leading to a significant increase in cases. Science simply doesn’t support those claims of COVID spikes. Students, it’s more important than ever that your voice be heard, so that we can begin to get our lives back on track. It’s time to reclaim our education.
