King William of Orange was directly involved in the British slave trade. His money helped finance the death, misery, and degradation of countless thousands of African people. By removing statues of slave traders and their supporters, we can demonstrate that we reject slavery in all its forms, and that we wish to see a world that is free and fair for all humanity.
