Why this petition matters

Started by Amber Erwin

Ask Morrisons to stop packaging citrus fruits in polypropylene netting!

Morrisons is the UK's 4th largest supermarket chain. Although Morrisons offers both loose lemons, limes, and oranges, it also sells these fruits in mesh polypropylene bags, a completely unnecessary practice that is harmful to the environment and to wildlife who can get stuck in netted bags.

Moreover, online reviews show that customers often find multiple dry or mouldy fruits in each bag. By selling only loose lemons, limes, and oranges, Morrisons not only could reduce its negative environmental impact but ensure its customers were guaranteed fresh produce by allowing them to select their own.

This is a small ask with a potentially big impact. Morrisons, please stop packaging your citrus fruits in disposable, single-use polypropylene netting and sell loose fruit only!
