Why this petition matters

Started by Camille Kauffman

Lake Paran is a beautiful natural resource in the very heart of our community. We swim, boat, fish and enjoy the natural beauty of this wonderful place all year round.

What would we do without it?

This is a question we must ask ourselves because our lake is in serious trouble.
Aquatic weeds are more and more prevalent and choking the lake to the point that it is difficult to enjoy the activities that are so important to us. In addition to affecting our use of the lake, the weeds also catch sediment, making the lake shallower and more conducive for weeds to grow. It is a vicious cycle that will eventually turn Lake Paran into a swamp.

There are things that we can do such as printing out the attached letter and sending it to your Selectboard and joining our mailing list for updates.

Make a tax-deductible donation to our campaign!

If you live in Bennington, North Bennington or Shaftsbury PLEASE SIGN this petition to support our efforts to make our lake healthier so that we can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

Sincerely,
The Lake Paran Survival Team

Dear Member of the Selectboard,

Lake Paran is a precious resource that many people in our community rely on for outdoor recreation all year long. It is also a driver of economic activity bringing people to our area for fishing, boating, hiking and swimming.

The Lake is becoming overrun by aquatic weeds making all forms of recreation much more difficult. We must remove the weeds in order to save our lake! Please support the work of Paran Recreations as they launch a campaign to SAVE LAKE PARAN.

Thank you,

Sincerely
