Why this petition matters

Started by George Mackenzie

The Hospitality Sector is struggling. Support is ending and restrictions are continuing.

The Scottish Government continue to be more cautious in easing restrictions than in England.

Legal challange in England have resulted in the curfew on opening hours being removed, food conditions removed and an update is expected very shortly to open Hospitality at the same time as non-essential retail. Evidence shows hospitality venues, are not and have never been, a major source for infections..

In addition to re-opening at a slower rate in Scotland, the Scottish Government are continuing to keep a late night curfew and are making plans to introducing mandatory 2 Hour time limit for premises

This is just as crazy as the previous measures put in place to restrict background music.

This rule will encourage customers to attend multiple venues and will increase the liklihood of venues loosing money due to noshow bookings and increased overheads.

With a time limit in place the risk to Public Health will increase

Customers visiting multiple venues as opposed to saying in one, which in turn will have a knock on effect and greatly increase the number of venues and individuals affected in the unfortunate, but inevitable, event of positive cases.

The Scottish Hospitality Group are working hard behind the scenes to feed into these new regulations and hope this rule is changed before bars are allowed to re-open.
