AMINOPYRALID based herbicides are persistent herbicide chemicals which remain long after application and effects the growth of plants even after ingestion by herbivores and after excretion.  This leads to wholesale dying of plants in affected soils even in different areas to the application area.

It has affected many smallholders and gardeners who will no longer obtain horse manure for their composts as there is a high chance the compost will then still contain the herbicide and lead to crop destruction.

The ban of this group of persistent herbicides will lead to a healthier soil for plants around the country.
