Primary and intermediate school principals are asking the government for a fair deal and we all need to back them 100%.

Our schools, our teachers - and above all our children - need great leaders. We urge the Education Minister, Chris Hipkins, to listen to our principals' concerns and take action for the sake of our children's future.

Principals are key leaders and role models for teachers and students alike. They inspire and develop our teachers and our children on a daily basis. They nurture and attract young people to enter the profession in the years ahead. 

We recognise that our principals are under enormous pressure.   They have a very complex role and they are essential to ensuring that our schools provide a safe and stimulating learning environment for our children.

Our principals play a vital leadership role in our schools and if their issues are not addressed, this will impact negatively on our children's education.
