Twice, in the past sixteen years, which accounts for 40% of the Presidential elections during the time period, the electorate of the United States of America have been handed a governing president which did not reflect the outcome of the popular vote.  The Electoral College must be abolished, in favor of a true popular vote, so that the presidential office can be filled according to majority vote and not according to an arcane, irrelevant, outdated, and ceremonious system, which does not ensure fairness and equality.
