Say 'NO' to proposed kennel for 100 breeding bitches
Say 'NO' to proposed kennel for 100 breeding bitches
Why this petition matters
We respectfully petition Sunshine Coast Council to:
NOT approve the Development Application MCU18/0311 at 2312 Steve Irwin Way, Landsborough for proposed kennels to breed (100) and board (200) dogs. Approval of this Development Application will open the door for other applicants and create an on-going problem with unrestricted breeding of puppies for profit.
This application is currently in process with the Sunshine Coast Council, Queensland. Mass production of puppies is not in the interests of the welfare of the animals but rather in the interests of making money. Is this an ethical business? There are already far too many dogs in refuges needing adoption. So why add to the problem? What quality of life can be expected by bitches kept solely for breeding? And many other welfare issues and questions arise .......
If you care, then please sign this petition.
And you may also wish to register your voice on a current e-Petition to the Queensland Parliament for review and change to the existing legislation relating to the breeding of puppies and 'Puppy Farms'. This closes on 8/8/19 and needs lots of votes. The link is https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/work-of-assembly/petitions/petition-details?id=3152
Finally, you could also vote for Say 'YES' to change Queensland Legislation. The link for this is http://chng.it/dDHKkJ6KVW
