Alvechurch FC are currently paying for two sites which isn't sustainable and our landlords have only agreed for us to stay at Lye Meadow until 31st May 2021. We have a new ground which we can move to but in order to pay for the minimum ground grading requirements, we require planning permission for houses on our existing ground.

We have worked with the developers who are making a contribution to the club which would facilitate the move. 

We were originally told by planners that our old ground was a brownfield site within green belt when we started the journey which would make it acceptable for development but, after we spent £1,000's in consultations to accompany the planning application, they then 'u' turned, saying it wasn't. They have now conceded that it is in fact 'previously developed land' but are still recommending refusal.

The decision goes to planning committee in January.

We are an FA Charter Standard Community club with many juniors and girl teams and we also work with 2 worthwhile charities, one which makes a significant contribution to reducing gang related activity and knife crime locally and the other which offers coaching and rehabilitation using sport to victims of brain injury. We want to do much more but we simply haven't got the facilities.

We are not asking for a handout, we just want the council to revert to their earlier decision of saying that our ground is brownfield and allow us to build much needed homes including social housing for the community which will release funds to save our club and protect our future.
