Why this petition matters

The BBC Question Time programme needs a more representative chairperson. The current chair attended Haberdashers Aske's school, funded by Robert Aske who made his money as an East India Company merchant. The EIC has been accused of colonialism and even famine.

The chair's family made their money from the Unilever conglomerate who, amongst other things, in their plantations, profited from King Leopold's Belgian Congo in which some sources claim many millions died.

Given the times, and the consequences of the present chair's achieved privilege, a new chair is needed.
