Change in the external livery of Mumbai Pune Deccan Queen approved by NID & Railway Board
Why this petition matters
Mumbai Pune Deccan Queen is one of the iconic trains running on the Indian Railways network operated by Central Railways. The train has a rich history, many firsts' to it's name, favourite amongst the daily commuters between the two cities and boasts of the only train left running with the Dining car which is the favourite amongst it's patrons.
Central Railways & Railway Board have decided to upgrade the conventional ICF rake of Deccan Queen to LHB rake which has superior features. Central Railways has made adequate changes taking feedback from the regular passengers about the internal seating layout, window designs & external livery designs through their online survey. Also, keeping in mind the legacy of Deccan Queen, Central Railways has made a special request for the Dining car on LHB platform whose final designs are waiting for approval.
However, the Railway Board & National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad have not taken into consideration the results of the survey for the external livery design held by Central Railways and they have approved the ugliest livery design thought of ever.
The @NID_India says it visited and spoke to passengers and all stakeholders. Going by the feedback, not a single person, except the Railway Board Elite and the design creators at NID team, seem to have liked it. We, Passengers, Railfans and Officials together would like to request you to please reconsider the proposed livery by NID Ahmedabad and give it the people's most voted livery of that white and royal blue in the photo attached above which will perfectly blend with the Royal Class of her majesty - The Deccan Queen.
