Reclaim West Street for the people
Reclaim West Street for the people
Why this petition matters
With streets across the world being reclaimed by people, now is time to take back West Street in Drogheda.
Let's reimagine Drogheda as a people-friendly town with West Street full of outside seating for cafés and pubs and new market stalls and sellers.
By doing this we can make Drogheda a pedestrian and cycle-friendly city, vastly increasing the quality of our lives.
Before this Pandemic, walking across West Street involved breathing in car and bus fumes. If we reclaim the streets for the people then we can walk down the street breathing fresh air and utilising the space for cafés and pubs. We could also allow new market stall sellers to pop up.
To achieve this we need the Louth County Council to change the traffic management of the town.
We can achieve clean air, car-free streets, and a liveable city.
