Thousands of people in urban Orlando drive past and over the environmentally sensitive Wekiva River every day without realizing it.

Residents can't protect or treasure the Wekiva if they don't realize what it is. We are appealing to the Florida Secretaries of Environmental Protection and Transportation to install roadside markers in urban Orlando to identify the Wekiva.

Signage has been installed elsewhere in Central Florida to identify other treasured waterways such as the St. Johns River and Shingle Creek.

The small cost of installing these signs is a huge investment to protect the environment, health, property values and the future of our Central Florida community.
