Conservative led Staffordshire County Council want to remove funding from our local special schools that provide overnight care for youngsters with special educational needs. This care is vital, it is an inherent part of the school curriculum that fosters independence and teaches life skills. It also gives amazing families some vital respite. This cut is callous and reprehensible and must be stopped.

The schools affected are Horton Lodge - Rudyard, Cicely Horton in Wetley Rocks, Loxley Hall, & Walton Hall.

It will have a significant impact on the day school if Kiplings were to shut and school leaders would need to look at how we can continue to ensure that pupils maximise their progress with reduced provision.
