Why this petition matters

Started by Bring Harry Home

Recently, Officer Rob Morningstar left the Circleville Police Department where he had been a K-9 officer for several years. Officer Morningstar, who served his country in the armed forces, recently left the city and became a deputy Sheriff for the Pickaway County Sheriff's office. His wife, Amie, also previously worked for the city as a firefighter.

When Morningstar departed the city, the administration reportedly told him he could keep his K-9 partner, Harry; a Belgian Malinois. When off-duty, K-9 dogs stay with their handlers 24/7 and become a member of the family.

Morningstar offered to pay the full retail value of Harry and reimburse the city for any money spent on training, as well as personally purchase the city a new K-9. The city allegedly agreed to this, but recently, after a couple weeks of Harry being at home with the Morningstar family, the city administration changed their minds and confiscated Harry.

Harry is now being retrained with a new handler and is being held in a cage for the time being.

The Morningstar family would like their beloved family member back, and this petition's goal is to let the city elected officials know that we support the family and Harry!
