The vaccine rollout has been slow and inefficient to say the least. For those that have assertively gone about getting vaccinated are still deprived of any normal functionality in Australia and deserve more credit for the initiative they have taken. 

The EU has a fully functional digital COVID certificate/passport in use. The US allows fully vaccinated people to not wear masks and not social distance. Fully vaccinated Germans do not count in the social gathering limits. Now I’m not saying this is what Australia should do, but it’s these types of privileges that provide huge incentive for non-vaccinated persons to get the jab. The more this virus is able to spread, the more it mutates and the longer the pandemic will go on. 

I am simply proposing that phase 3-4 in the recent roadmap Scott Morrison has proposed get pushed further ahead and into the Q4 2021 - Q1 2022 timeframe. Scott Morrison suggested we would will likely be in phase 1 into next year! It is incredibly important to be safe during our transition to a ‘new’ normal but with the Prime Minister’s plan and complete blundering of purchasing and distributing the vaccines, a ‘new’ normal will not be achieved until 2023-2024

The vast majority of those that are fully vaccinated are front-line health care workers, elderly people and Australians stranded overseas. If anyone needs a little more freedom, it’s them. 

I am proposing;

1. The opening of borders with quarantine-less (or at the very least home-bound quarantine) for fully-vaccinated Australians coming home. This would allow for more unvaccinated Australians to return home safely in quarantine. 

2. Lifting visiting restrictions on hospitals, other medical facilities and aged-care homes for fully-vaccinated persons. It’s unbelievably sad the amount of people that have died alone despite having vaccinated family and friends. 

3. Lifting domestic travel restrictions for fully-vaccinated persons. Especially for restrictions placed on events, funerals etc. 

4. Allow for fully-vaccinated persons to travel to countries with restrictions lifted for foreign travellers.
