Save the Toyota Land Cruiser
Save the Toyota Land Cruiser
Why this petition matters
The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most historically-significant vehicles in automotive history and there are rumors that Toyota has plans to discontinue it in the United States after the 2022 model year. Enthusiasts have long felt that if the vehicle was packaged more appropriately and better promoted by Toyota, the modern Land Cruiser would be more of a sales success in this market. Regardless, if Toyota were to move forward with this decision to cancel the Land Cruiser in the US market, the American 4x4 landscape would suffer tremendously, as the Land Cruiser sets the bar for durability, reliability, utility, and capability here in the US. Without the Land Cruiser, consumers would have fewer options, competing automakers would face less competition, and Toyota itself would suffer in the long run here in the US due to the abandoning of its halo product. The Land Cruiser is a global icon and we need it here in the US to set the bar for American 4x4s for years to come. This petition is to collect signatures and input from Land Cruiser enthusiasts advocating for the American market to be included in the plan for the next-generation Toyota Land Cruiser and will be presented to Toyota upon its completion.
My name is Chris O'Neill and I am an automotive journalist, adventurer, and Land Cruiser owner. As an advocate for any product - vehicular or otherwise - that is robust, overbuilt, and follows a 'buy once cry once' mantra, I plan to own Toyota Land Cruisers for as long as I can.
