Why this petition matters

Started by Ravinder Uppal

There are three highly controversial bills that have been passed by the government of India which are against the farming class.

Essentially, by removing Minimum Support Price (MSP) the farmers will have no security or control over the price of their produce and will be at the mercy of corporate buyers. The Indian government should protect farmers from being exploited in this manner.

By signing this petition you are in support of Punjabi farmers peacefully protesting in India opposing the three bills that have been passed - The Essential Commodities (Special Provisions and Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020, the Farmers’ (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services (Special Provisions and Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) (Special Provisions and Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020 were passed by the Congress government.
