A news poll conducted on our page asked the public if AFL games should go ahead here in WA, given the current Covid-19 situation.

Majority of our viewers voted against it, with 79% of voters saying no to AFL games in WA.

AMA WA president Dr Andrew Miller agreed, saying football should not take precedence over the health of our communities.

Our viewers commented football is a game, but our lives are not a sport. and if the borders are closed they should be closed to everyone – AFL shouldn’t be any different.

The McGowan Government has called hosting the 2020 AFL Grand Final not worth the risk as WA missed out on securing the season-ending blockbuster. Threasurer Ben Wyatt said the State Government was not willing to jeopardise the state’s safety, despite putting forward a proposal to bring the decider to Optus Stadium.

What has changed since then ? Covid 19 Delta has locked down NSW, ACT, some of Victoria.. 

Mr McGowan now thinks he can control it and risk opening Pandora's box at the expense of Western Australians for the sake of prestige, vanity and greed, even though hospitals are on code yellow. 

We ask that the AFL Grand Final 2021 not be played in Western Australia or be postponed until next year. The Olympics could do it, so can WA !
