Lily Dorrance, 17, a youth MP was reduced to tears after her speech about a friend's suicide during a Youth Parliament debate which was rudely and unjustifiably  interrupted by senior National MP Anne Tolley.

Lily was talking about mental health and describing her loss in Parliament's debating chamber yesterday when Tolley, rebuked her for reading from notes.

Such disgusting behavior is inconsistent with the NZ governments policy of encouraging the public to speak openly and freely about mental health and suicide.  Despite what Tolley has said in the press, she is clearly not sorry about her interjection and insistence on standing her ground in this cringeworthy display of arrogance.  Tolley must deliver a public apology to Lily and the NZ public or otherwise resign from her position.
