Clemson University is in the process of adding one or more women's sports in it's continuing commitment to gender equality and support of female student-athlete's championship dreams. According to The Clemson Insider, the Athletic Department will make a decision in "the near future," which could mean sometime in early June. Women's Gymnastics should be one of those sports. 

Gymnastics continues to be on the rise; both in popularity to watch and for young girls and boys to participate in. Gymnastics teaches stretch, flexibility, coordination, and dedication. As well as some awesome skills to show off! Having a collegiate gymnastics team close to home would be great for young girls, giving them role models, both in and out of the gym. Most collegiate women's gymnastics teams have multiple academic honors, above average GPA's, participate in many philanthropic events, and volunteer in the community. 

Let's face it, gymnastics is just exciting to watch! They flip, twist, swing, dance, balance, and somehow they still land on their feet. Women's gymnastics has one of the highest ratings during the Summer Olympics and in some college's across the country, is the 2nd highest grossing sport, next to football. Gymnastics fans travel. Clemson fans travel. Clemson gymnastics fans will travel. Adding women's gymnastics would increase the local economy in both travel expenses and season tickets. It would also add another gymnastics program in the ACC, therefore giving it enough teams to host a conference championship. Another opportunity for Clemson to compete and bring home a title to the University and the state of South Carolina. 

Whether you bleed orange or not, the benefits to Clemson adding Women's Gymnastics as a sport would be a huge asset to the state of South Caroline. We ask for your support in our endeavor to add women's gymnastics to Clemson University.
