I have been doing research and collecting people's experiences with sex education (mainly women and members of the LGBT community). What I have found is that there is a huge lack of information when it comes to the female body which leads to feelings of self loathing and inadequacy later in life.

Masturbation is something that has always been taboo for women and it's about time we taught young girls that it isn't dirty, it is so important to have a good relationship with your body before you let someone else decide what you like.

Sex education is mainly focused on "how not to have a baby", which is all well and good. But going forward I believe we need to be a lot more inclusive. Including information for lgbt couples to lessen the stigma and be able to have open conversations about it and create a safe space for kids who might night have that at home.

We need to teach young people about their bodies, be that he, she's and theys. We need to teach them about consent and red flag behaviour when it comes to sexual relationships. Not just how the sperms gets to the egg!
