The Festive Season is the last hope of survival for many tourism businesses in the Western Cape. Open the Garden Route Beaches or at the very least align with the KZN restrictions.

Bookings at many guest houses are being cancelled. Individuals should be allowed to manage their own risk. With the necessary safety protocols businesses are equipped to safely host tourists.

There is no logic to the government's biased restrictions between KZN & the Garden Route as well as other gathering places & events.

Many individuals have had a tough year and have saved and looked forward to their beach holiday. These individuals heeded the call to support local tourism in light of the previous international restrictions in order to support the South African economy and this is how we repay them???

We request all local business, tourists, Garden Route Residents & elected Western Cape Leaders to support this petition and take urgent action.

We are calling on the Garden Route Business Chamber, Mayor, Munciple Leaders, Press, & DA leadership to urgently intervene. The economic harm to the district far supercedes the long-term devastation of the virus.

We have excellent Healthcare facilities in the Western Cape Garden Route that are professionally managed and our health care infrastructure surpasses any of the districts and provinces with less restrictive restrictions.
