Article 1 Section 5 Clause 2 of the United States Constitution provides that "[e]ach House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) is deserving of expulsion.

Prior to running for office, Greene became well known in far-right circles for supporting and espousing "QAnon" beliefs. QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory group designed to promote the idea that a deep-state, cabal-like group of Satan-worshipping individuals is plotting against the United States. Greene began expressing her support for this far-right group in late 2017. Specifically, Greene pledged her allegiance to a hypothetical leader of the group, whom she referred to as "Q." She stated that Q "very much loves his country” and is “on the same page as us.

Later that same year, Greene continued to promote conspiracy theories following the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, where gunman, Stephen Paddock, murdered 58 individuals at a country music festival. In response to the shooting, Greene stated that she did not believe Paddock acted alone. She argued that the death of those 58 individuals where a result of the left attempting to push "anti-gun legislation." Specifically, Greene asked her supporters: "How do you get avid gun owners and people who support the 2nd Amendment to give up their guns and go along with anti-gun legislation? … Maybe you accomplish that by performing a mass shooting into a crowd that is very likely to be conservative, very likely to vote Republican, very likely to be Trump supporters and pro-2nd Amendment."

She then answered her own question by stating, without any evidence: “You make them scared, you make them victims and change their mindset. Then possibly you can pass anti-gun legislation. Is that what happened in Las Vegas?” Instead of identifying the tragic events as such, Greene continued to throw out baseless allegations and conspiracy theories.

The following month, Greene continued promoting QAnon views when discussing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into President Donald Trump. She posted a video praising "Q" and stating that Mueller is preparing to indict 4,289 individuals as part of his investigation. She went as far as to say that some of these indictments would be based on child pedophilia and satanic worship.

In 2018, Greene promoted the conspiracy theory that the Parkland school shooting was a "false flag planned shooting." Specifically, Greene stated, when discussing her beliefs about an officer at the school during the shooting, "It’s called a pay off to keep his mouth shut since it was a false flag planned shooting." Greene further commented on the shooting by stating, "I am told that Nancy Pelosi tells Hillary Clinton several times a month that ‘we need another school shooting’ in order to persuade the public to want strict gun control."

Following this hateful rhetoric, Greene chose to run for Congress in Georgia in a heavily Republican district. President Trump tweeted out his support for Greene, calling her a "future Republican star." During her campaign, Greene posted an image depicting her holding a firearm next to four sitting Congresswomen. Moreover, during that same time, Greene's family company took out a PPP loan designed to assist small businesses during the COVID pandemic. Shortly after receiving this loan, Greene donated a large sum of money to her own campaign. This donation has been scrutinized as a potential violation of federal law.

Since winning her election, Greene has promoted anti-mask conspiracy theories along with now-defunct election fraud claims. She has repeatedly stated that Donald Trump won the 2020 Presidential election, despite the election being certified for Joe Biden. In the days leading up to the violent insurrection on the United States Capitol, Greene told her supports, multiple times, to fight for the President and to fight for Trump. She has refused to wear a mask on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.

Greene continues to support "Q" and "QAnon" to this date. She has called for the impeachment of Joe Biden before he even takes office. She is a disgrace to her constituents, our democracy, and the United States of America.
