BAM, THE DEVELOPER OF THE PROPOSED 211 UNIT PLAN HAS COMMITTED TO DONATING THE HISTORIC BRAXTON LEE HOUSE,
IT'S SMOKEHOUSE, THE EXTERIOR SUMMER KITCHEN AND
SURROUNDING PROPERTY TO THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF  
CHEATHAM COUNTY FOR PRESERVATION.

THIS IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION SINCE THE HOUSE WAS OMITTED FROM THEIR INTIAL SITE PLAN. WE ARE ENCOURAGED AND HOPEFUL THAT THE MOST HISTORIC SITE IN OUR COUNTY WILL BE PRESERVED.

THE 3 PHASE PROPOSED SUBDIVISION INCLUDES
211 TRIPLEX AND DUPLEX UNITS ON HWY 12/S. MAIN STREET
ADJACENT TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT RECENTLY INSTALLED AT
TN WALTZ PARKWAY/S. MAIN ST./MCQUARRY STREET INTERSECTION. 

This subdivision is also located atop a hill across from Ashland City’s water supply, Marrowbone Creek. Will water runoff include yard chemicals, pesticides, etc.?

STOP THE SPRAWL / PROTECT OUR QUALITY OF LIFE!
Ashland City does NOT have the infrastructure...traffic, schools, emergency services, etc., to support 211 single family homes
MUCH LESS 211 triplex and duplex units.

ANYONE who drives on Hwy 12/So. Main Street in Ashland City WILL be affected but many small streets and neighborhoods will be highly impacted by this unsightly and poorly planned densely packed development.

The PROPOSED 211 unit residential subdivision is also planned on property that holds some of the most significant historical value in Ashland City.
Built in 1811, the Braxton Lee Homestead is a 211 year old home known as the oldest residential structure in Ashland City. The tear down of this historic home will be an unfortunate loss and missed opportunity for our city and the county. This is also the ancestral home of Governor Bill Lee.

Signing our petition is important, but we still need your help to spread the word to your friends and neighbors! Most important is making your opposition known to our city representatives by either calling or emailing Ashland City Planning Commission members and Ashland City Council members.
